BLUEJAY GIRLS DEFEAT WAUSAU EAST IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION

In girls’ softball action heard yesterday on WJMT and wjmtfm.com, the Merrill Bluejays defeated the Wausau East Lumberjacks in a non-conference game on the road.  The Bluejays scored early and often in defeating the Lumberjacks, with AmericInn player of the game Kendall Klug pacing the attack with two triples, two RBI, and stealing home as well.  Abbi Krueger started in the circle for Merrill and gave up a single run in four innings of work to get the win.  She was followed by Jaci Lyon before Maddie Barker pitched the last frame.

The win extends the girl’s winning streak to two games, with the team returning to conference play tomorrow against Tomahawk.  Boys’ baseball action returns to the airways on Thursday, as the Bluejays journey to face the Mosinee Indians in conference action before returning home to the friendly confines of Athletic Park to face the Crandon Cardinals in a non-conference matchup.  Both games can be heard on WJMT and wjmtfm.com, and Friday’s game can also be seen on the WJMT TV Channel on YouTube.  Coverage both days begins at 4:45 with the Nicolet Bank pre-game show and first pitch at 5:00.
